My FAVORITE time of year to visit Disney is the Fall, hands down! The weather is cooler, the crowds are lighter and there are two awesome parties to attend at Magic Kingdom. If you’re thinking about going this upcoming fall the tickets for both parties are now on sale! Here’s some details about what to expect from each party to help you make up your mind about going 🙂
Exclusive Party Firework Displays
One of the best things about the parties is their exclusive fireworks displays. They are truly amazing & set to a score that exemplifies the season. They are definitely worth staying for if you attend one of the parties. You can pay extra (if you want) for a dessert party that gives you a special viewing area and treats to enjoy during the fireworks display.
Amazing parades with exclusive characters
I love the parades that take place during the party! They have floats and characters that you won’t see any other time of the year and special music exclusive to the parades. The Halloween parade kicks off with the headless horseman and the Christmas parade ends with Santa himself! Both are definitely worth checking out.
To make the parties feel even more special each of them has a free treat for you to enjoy. For the Halloween party, you get to trick-or-treat all over Magic Kingdom collecting treats from marked location. For the Christmas Party, you get cookies and hot chocolate that you can enjoy while you watch it ‘snow’ on Main Street (this is a very magical touch for sure!)
Special Character Meet & Greets
If you love Character meet & greets then you’ll want to check out one of the parties! You will find characters that very rarely make an appearance (like Jack Skellington and the seven dwarfs) as well as some of your favs in special holiday attire (like Halloween costumes or Christmas outfits). If you are hoping to meet these characters make sure to ask who will be where (the map only tells you where characters will be, not who) and get in line early, these lines are long! Also, make sure to check for fun magic pics, we got an awesome one if front of Haunted Mansion last year with a ghost driving the carriage 🙂
Fun stage shows
The castle shows are always really fun to watch but the ones during the parties are truly special. Make sure to check the program to see when they will be on and make sure to get a spot early! If you can make it to the later show (and later parade for that matter) it is always less crowded than the earlier ones.
A couple things to note
If you are planning to stay late use the time during the earlier parade and show to ride the rides, the lines are way shorter at those time. Also, not every ride and restaurant is open during the parties so make sure you check before you get your hopes up! There are also lots of other fun activities, like character dance parties, going on throughout the park so make sure you take the time to wander.
