Our stay at Windjammer Landing was a family vacation we will never forget! When we started researching Caribbean destinations we began asking family and friends what they would recommend. Saint Lucia was a name that came up most often so we decided to really start researching into the island. We couldn’t believe how stunning the pictures were and how absolutely lovely the island looked. Plus, there was lots to see and do which is very important to us.
Before long, we were sold on visiting Saint Lucia and it was time to decide on a resort. It didn’t take us long to fall in love with the gorgeous Windjammer Landing. We loved the idea of staying in a villa rather than a traditional hotel room and the way that the villas are built on the hillside really intrigued us. Well, I’m happy to report that the island of Saint Lucia and Windjammer Landing EXCEEDED our expectations in every way possible, here are just a few of the reasons why we loved our time there and you will too.
The Windjammer Landing Villas!
Wow doesn’t even begin to describe the villa that we stayed in at Windjammer Landing. The villas range from 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom with different amenities coming with each different size. Well, we were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to a four bedroom villa and it was phenomenal! Our villa was actually a mansion with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a kitchen, sitting room, dining room and it’s own private pool overlooking the ocean. Check out our two minute tour of our luxurious villa!
The Food and Service!
Windjammer Landing is unique from many other resorts because the all-inclusive is optional. This has a lot to do with the fact that many people cook at least a portion of their meals in their villas so having a mandatory all-inclusive would definitely be a deterrent for some people. We chose to go for the all-inclusive and I’m so glad we did. The food was delicious and the service was some of the best service we’ve ever had. We had an opportunity to eat at all five of the restaurants and each was as good as the last. There were also lots of great food options for my little guy and they were very accommodating. Whether you chose to go for the all-inclusive or not I would definitely recommend eating at least a few of your meals at the amazing restaurants.
A Spectacular Beach!
When you travel to a Caribbean destination the beach is one of the first things people inquire about. The beach at Windjammer Landing was pristine with lots of places to sit and lots of shady spots (something super important to me!) The resort is also on a small bay which meant the water was nice and warm and the waves never got too big. This is huge when you have a little one. We went to a beach that was on open water and I couldn’t believe the difference. The calmer water at Windjammer Landing was a huge bonus.
As you probably know, family friendly is top of our list when we look into resorts. About half of the people at the resort had children of varying ages and it was easy to see why. There were so many activities for kids from a great park for little ones to fun water sports for older kids. And there was never anywhere we went where we felt our little guy wasn’t welcome. It was clear from the moment we arrived that Windjammer Landing welcomed families and even went out of their way to accommodate any special requests that having a family might bring.
So Much To Do!
During our stay at Windjammer Landing there really was a lot going on! Every day you could check the white board to see a list of the day’s activities and decide which ones you wanted to participate in. There’s also a spa, gym, shops and of course pools to check out, there really is something for everyone. Here’s our two minute tour of the resort!
Shuttles to your Villas
We love to walk but the hills in St. Lucia are really steep, especially for a little guy. Windjammer Landing has constant shuttles that take you from the main resort area up to your villa anytime you need. They are constant, courteous and safe. You will realize how awesome this service is when you see how steep the hills are!
As much as we loved being on the resort we also wanted to make sure we got out and explored the island. When we visited the Jammers Tour Desk we were given fantastic options for activities that we could do with our little guy and that he would enjoy as much as we would. We were so glad we got to see and experience so much of the island!! Check out our two minute recap of the Catamaran tour we took from ‘St. Lucia Boat Tours’ we got to see so much of the island from the ocean as well as visit some of the top tourist spots, all in one day!
And here is a two minute recap that includes our helicopter ride, SCUBA diving and the Rainforest Aerial Tram. The views are spectacular from above and below gorgeous St. Lucia!
If you’ve never been to St. Lucia before I would highly recommend you put it on your must do list and if you are visiting the island, I can’t say enough good things about Windjammer Landing, it really was one of the most spectacular resorts we’ve ever been to! You can check them out here for more info or to book your stay.
Thank you so much to Windjammer Landing for covering a portion of our accommodations and upgrading us to the amazing four bedroom villa in exchange for our honest review. No other portion of this blog post was sponsored.
